Maligayang Linggo ng Wikang Pambansa!
Pista ngayong linggo sa Nursery! Sisimulan
ang linggo sa pagtuklas iba’t ibang
mga obrang Filipino na may paksang pista
at pagdiriwang. Susundan ito ng pagtalakay
ng mga gawain tuwing araw ng pagdiriwang.
Manonood rin ng maiksing pelikula ang mga
bata upang mas maintindihan at maranasan
ang makulay na kulturang ito. Mag-aaral
din ang mga klase ng ilang kanta na tunay
na magpapasigla sa linggo ng pista ?
Ano ang ginagampanang tungkulin ng bawat
kasapi ng aking pamilya? Ano ang kaya kong
gawin bilang kasapi nito? Ngayong linggo,
patuloy pa ring tatalakayin sa klase ng
Nursery ang mas malalim na pagkakakilala
ng pamilya. Babasahin ang kwentong Guess
How Much I Love You. Bukod sa patuloy na
pagsasanay sa pagsusulat at pagtukoy ng
mga titik, matututuhan ang pagsusuot ng
medyas at sapatos nang mag-isa ? Ang titik
po ngayong linggo ay titik R at ang bilang
ay 5.
Sa Sabado ay Pista sa Raya! Makikita na
nating lahat ang inaabangang pag-awit ng
Ningning ng Munting Bituin at pagsayaw ng
Itik-Itik ng ating mga anak. Magkita-kita
po tayong lahat!
Thanks!

We’ll discover more things we like
in Raya this week. With the help of Celia
Studious and Conrad Cat, we’ll talk
about why it is important to go to school
and the activities we make that keep us
busy in class. In our story Klasmeyt, we’ll
discover what makes our friends happy and
how bullying make us lose friends. We’ll
also start counting up to 20; cut and paste
following straight and curved lines; learn
the pronouns He, she and it; identify, sound
and write the letter Hh; identify the secondary
colors from primary colors; and enrich our
Filipino vocabulary with things that are
seen inside the classroom.
A lot of activities await us this week
but what makes us all very excited is the
upcoming Pista sa Raya this Saturday! Hope
to see you all!

The Prep kids had a great time doing various
activities with their friends in school.
I especially liked Friday’s show-and-tell
because they all really worked hard for
the special tokens for their friends in
school. I hope they develop a deeper bond
as the school year progresses.
Next week, we move on to appreciating and
showing concern for our school. We have
the literary piece Apolakus to help us talk
about loving the people and things in our
school. We will also talk about the ways
we can show our love for our school such
as taking care of school property. Then,
as a supplementary activity, the Prep kids
will make a paper maché model of
the Raya school using small cereal boxes
and old newspaper. We might also have our
trip to UP for our map reading (letters
will be sent if we will push through with
this activity). We will also continue our
discussions about MSAIOBEU letters and Proper
and Common Nouns in Filipino, Demonstrative
pronouns and syllable clapping in English
and pictographs in Math.
Again, as a reminder, you may start looking
for the Prep’s costume (for girls:
Balintawak dress (knee-length) and for boys:
white camisa chino and black pants with
yellow handkerchief) for our Pista celebration
in August and also practice this song at
home.

“What does it mean to value something?”
will be the center of our discussion this
week. The springboard pieces this week are:
SI Iking Paniki and Money Mystery. In Math,
we will be rounding off to the nearest 10th
and also learn about the value of money
in coins. In Science, we will talk about
the levels of vulnerability of animals.
In Integrated Language Arts, we will cover
plural nouns and the consonant blends pr,
pl, and sl. We will also make use of the
words “ang” and “ang mga”
for our GOLD in Filipino. In C&I, we
will talk about the unique animals that
can be found in the Philippines.
This Thursday, we will review all the spelling
words that we have been practicing since
the start of the school year. Please review
the spelling word list below with your children.

Grade 2 Marangal
Hi parents!
Five days to go before Pista sa Raya! Your
kids have been working hard for their spot
numbers for the past weeks. They have almost
mastered Limang Dipang Tao and singkil and
are already very excited to perform. I’m
sure you will all be proud of them on Saturday.
?
As you know, Pista sa Raya is our own version
of Linggo ng Wika. And for this week, we
will focus on wikang Filipino in C &
I. In Math, we will learn to use the terms
“groups”, “rows”
and “product” in multiplication.
We will also try to answer Filipino word
problems involving addition and subtraction.
In Language Arts, we will review the present
and past tenses of verbs and then learn
future tense and adverbs. Science will be
about inherited characteristics. We will
also write about the characteristics we
have inherited from our parents in Theme
Writing. Lastly, in Art, we will make murals
using the different art materials and try
to apply the elements of art we have studied
in class: lines, shape, color, space, texture.
Our springboard pieces for this week are
Ang Ambisyosong Istetoskop and Tuko, The
Tenor Wannabe.
